Step 1: Grasp the end of the loop (or whatever you want to tie the timber hitch to)
Step 2: Drape the end of the webbing over your thumb
Step 3: Thread the end of the webbing UP through the bottom of the loop
Step 4: Thread the end of the webbing through the space between your thumb and pointer finger (lead end of the line is on the left)
Step 5: Place the lead end of the webbing so it crosses underneath your thumb
Step 6: Toss the lead end of the webbing over the top of your hand
Step 7: Make the loop that passes around the yellow cord larger so you have more space to pass the webbing through
Step 8: Thread the lead end of the webbing through the hole you just enlarged.
Step 9: Wrap the lead end of the webbing around the hole a second time
Step 10: Wrap the lead end of the webbing around the hole a third time
Step 11: Remove your thumb
Step 12: Pull tight and groom the knot
